Bath Soaps and Body Wash….Do They Really Make Us Sexier?

triple milled

Even though it is a bit on the expensive side, I love triple milled soap, also called French milled soap.  The soap made by passing the ingredients through a pair of closely spaced rollers (called milling) three times  instead of once, and then it is rolled between stainless steel rollers. Fragrance and coloring (if any) are added after the initial milling.  After the final milling the cake of soap is formed.  Triple milled soap lasts a long time and doesn’t dry your skin, rather leaves it soft and smooth. Pre de Provence Milk Soap is mildly scented and vegetable based.

Dial MagneticIn the midst of controversy, there was a class action lawsuit against Dial disputing claims that its pheromone-infused Magnetic Attraction Enhancing Body Wash Men by Dial makes men more sexually appealing to us women 😉  I think any fresh-out-of-the-shower smell might have that affect, but its got me wondering…

Dr BonnersI’ve seen body washes that can be used as both soap and shampoo, but Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap is immensely popular, and look at what it will clean:   Body; Floors; Bathrooms; Counters; Walls; Dishes; Pets; Fruits & Vegetables; Great For Shaving.  All that would make it great for travelling too!  I don’t think its pheromone infused though 😀

epsom saltThere are a lot of different kinds of bath salts, which are essentially Morton Epsom Salt with additives.  I just use a scoop of the plain stuff.  Its estimated that more than half of Americans have a magnesium deficiency.  The magnesium and sulfate in Epsom Salt can be absorbed through your skin, so in addition to soothing your muscles, a bath with a tablespoon or so added a few times a week can help keep you healthier.  So while its not really a soap, its still good for you at cleansing time. If you have a shelf beside your tub, fill a pretty jar with it and add a nice scoop, and you’ll find yourself using it regularly, and hey, healthy is sexy right?

shower oilAt the end of a shower is a good time to apply body lotion, but this L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil is a cleansing product designed to replace soap.  A little bit goes a long ways, and its great for those with really dry skin, and we all know how nice soft skin can feel 🙂
