Aside from the kitchen, more injuries happen in the bathroom than any other room in your home. Some of these injuries are very serious, including brain injuries and death. Whether its to protect your young children, seniors, or anyone in between, there are precautions we can take that easily can prevent many serious injuries from happening.

  • Always turn cold taps on first
  • Install anti-scald devices on fixtures
  • Teach your child not to touch the bathroom spout, and seat the child away from it
  • Never put your child in the bathtub while the water is still running
  • Bathwater for babies and young children should be between 90 and 100F, a bit cooler than adults might prefer



  • Never leave a child under six unattended in a bathroom if there is water in the bathtub
