Spiral Vegetable Slicer

PadernoI have a good quality stainless steel mandolin, but based on experience, I’m a bit afraid of it actually.  Those things can be lethal weapons.  I know a lot of people who would tell you the same thing.  So I’ve been ignoring it and using my old chef’s knife as usual.  But after hearing over and over about the Paderno World Cuisine A4982799 Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer, I finally went ahead and ordered one.  Here are some of the best things about using this vegetable slicer:

  • safe to use!  It isn’t a children’s toy but I don’t worry about hurting myself on it;
  • easy to use for vegetable pasta as a main course, a great substitute for diabetics or anyone watching their carbs
  • easy to clean
  • my Bertazzoni’s small oven will stay at a setting low enough to dry fruits, so this makes easy work of preparing them
  • you can just give the veggies a quick scrub instead of peeling
  • great for spiral fries and vegetable crisps
  • about the size of a small shoe box, so easy enough to tuck onto the Lazy Susan to have nearby
