Statement stools are on my list of 2014 home decorating trends, and I’m glad to see them there, because I love them. I definitely love adding some personality to a room by adding a unique, eye-catching stool. You can mix and match them with chairs too.
This modern “Wave” barstool comes in many popular colors, including one of the trendiest colors of the year – orchid purple. The sexy design belies the fact that they are very sturdy, holding up to 330 pounds! They include a built in footrest, which is a must in stools that leave our legs dangling, and have a pneumatic seat height adjustment. Seat Size: 15”W x 12.5”D Back Size: 15”W x 2.5”H Seat Height: 22.75 – 31.25”H
Another popular design trend this year is also seen on modern barstools – animal hide. This stool combines the chic effect of a low, leather upholstered bar stool with the modern rusticism of cowhide, creating a casual elegance. It has a polished nickel finish on a stainless steel frame. Dimensions: 33 inches high x 23.5 inches wide x 22 inches deep; Seat height: 24 inches
Global prints are all the rage right now, as seen in this black and white driftwood Ikat styled fabric upholstery. This Morocco barstool has a modern style that is perfect for adding a splash of pattern and eye-catching style to your space. Note: during assembly there are two different size bolts and the wooden pieces that connect the legs can only go one way or it won’t work. Black finished frame. Size: 30 inches. Dimensions: 23 inches x 17.7 inches x 43.3 inches.
If you’ve had an urge to bring an owl into your room, the 2013 trend has carried forward into this year. Constructed from the best grade ceramic material and polished with shine, this low stool has no sharp edges and is suitable for use as either a seat or a side table. It is sure to add a splash of interest to a living room or deck. Measures 12 inches in width, 10 inches in length and 17 inches in height.
Yellow is another hot 2014 color, and ceramic stools add a vibrant pop of trendy style to a room. This little urban style stool is 18″ high. They’re easy to clean, and very versatile. I keep one of these on my deck as a side table but it doubles as extra seating when required.
These vintage industrial style counter stools are sturdier than they look, yet easy to move around when extra seating is required. Counter stools are nice because they work for extra seating at the dinner table. Most people are building their islands counter height now. I keep one of these stools at my flower potting station on my deck. Dimensions: 24.00″ h x 16.00″ w x 16.00″ l, 24.10 pounds Weight capacity 250 pounds.
In a similar design to the ceramic garden stools, this stool is covered in rope, another 2014 trend. We’re seeing light fixtures hung with thick rope, various home objects covered or decorated with it, and even hints of the 1970’s macramé in wall hangings. Much like a rattan stool, these rope stools add textural interest and can be used indoors or out. This rope stool is made of long lasting wood and measures 14 inches x14 inches (D) x18 (H) inches.
